General Terms & Conditions

Hyssop Cleaning

‍ ‍

Effective Date: July 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by Hyssop Cleaning Services, including commercial cleaning, janitorial services, standard office cleaning, post-construction cleaning, end-of-tenancy cleaning, customized cleaning plans, interior styling, and home staging.

By requesting, scheduling, approving, or purchasing services from Hyssop Cleaning Services, the client acknowledges and agrees to the applicable terms below.

1. Estimates & Quotes

Quotes are based on the information provided by the client and/or conditions observed during a walkthrough. Pricing may be based on property size, condition, requested services, cleaning frequency, estimated labor, accessibility, and other factors affecting the scope of work.

If actual site conditions differ substantially from those represented or observed when the quote was prepared, Hyssop Cleaning Services may recommend additional services or revise the price before performing work outside the agreed scope.

A quote does not guarantee availability until the service date has been confirmed.

2. Scope of Services

Only services specifically identified in the client's approved quote, proposal, service agreement, or work order are included.

Requests for additional work may result in additional charges and, when appropriate, require client approval before the additional work is performed.

Hyssop Cleaning Services reserves the right to decline work that presents unsafe, hazardous, unsanitary, or undisclosed conditions.

3. Access to the Property

Clients are responsible for providing safe and timely access to the property on the scheduled service date, including necessary keys, entry codes, parking instructions, security procedures, and building-access information.

If our team cannot access the property or service areas at the scheduled time, a cancellation, lockout, or rescheduling fee may apply.

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients should secure confidential documents, medications, firearms, cash, jewelry, valuables, fragile collectibles, and other sensitive or high-value property before service begins.

Work areas should be reasonably accessible. Excessive clutter, furniture, construction materials, abandoned property, or other obstructions that prevent normal cleaning may require additional labor or prevent certain services from being completed.

5. Cleaning Results

Hyssop Cleaning Services strives to provide professional, consistent, and detail-oriented results. However, some stains, discoloration, permanent damage, wear, mineral deposits, corrosion, adhesive, paint, construction residue, or deeply embedded soil may not be completely removable through standard cleaning procedures.

Cleaning does not constitute restoration, remediation, repair, or a guarantee that damaged surfaces will return to their original condition.

6. Post-Construction Cleaning

Post-construction estimates are based on the condition of the property at the time of inspection or information provided by the client.

Excessive construction debris, paint, adhesive, caulk, grout, drywall compound, stickers, protective films, high-level dust, or other construction residue beyond the quoted scope may result in additional charges.

Contractors and trades should substantially complete their work before final cleaning. Additional cleaning required because contractors return to the property after Hyssop has completed service may be billed separately.

7. End-of-Tenancy Cleaning

End-of-tenancy cleaning is intended to prepare a vacant property for inspection, turnover, or its next occupant.

Unless specifically included in the quote, services do not include furniture or abandoned-property removal, excessive trash removal, pest remediation, mold remediation, biohazard cleanup, carpet extraction, repairs, painting, or restoration.

Hyssop Cleaning Services does not guarantee the return of a tenant's security deposit because deposit decisions remain between the landlord, property manager, and tenant.

8. Interior Styling & Home Staging

Hyssop's Interior Styling & Home Staging services focus on enhancing the appearance, organization, flow, and presentation of existing spaces.

Services may include furniture arrangement, décor placement, space optimization, color recommendations, accessory recommendations, lighting suggestions, staging, and related design consultation. New York expressly recognizes activities such as furniture arranging, staging, lighting design, and selection or arrangement of furnishings as interior decorating/design services.

Hyssop Cleaning Services does not provide construction, remodeling, electrical, plumbing, flooring installation, structural modification, carpentry, painting, or handyman services.

Recommendations regarding paint colors, furnishings, lighting, décor, materials, or other improvements are advisory. The client maintains final responsibility for purchasing decisions and hiring any third-party contractors or tradespeople.

9. Furniture & Personal Property

When styling, staging, or cleaning requires moving lightweight furnishings or decorative objects, reasonable care will be exercised.

Clients should disclose items that are fragile, unstable, unusually valuable, antique, previously damaged, or unsafe to move.

Large or unusually heavy furniture, appliances, electronics, pianos, safes, permanently installed items, or other items presenting an unreasonable risk may not be moved.

10. Payments

Payment terms will be stated in the client's quote, invoice, proposal, or service agreement.

Invoices are due according to the payment terms provided. Recurring commercial clients may be invoiced according to an established billing schedule.

Additional services requested outside the original scope may be invoiced separately.

11. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand that schedules change. Clients should provide reasonable advance notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment.

Hyssop Cleaning Services reserves the right to establish cancellation, late-cancellation, lockout, or rescheduling fees for individual service agreements. Any applicable fee should be disclosed before service is confirmed.

Where a statutory cancellation right applies, applicable law controls over this general cancellation policy.

12. Recurring Services

Recurring cleaning arrangements are performed according to the frequency and scope established in the client's service agreement.

Changes to frequency, facility usage, occupancy, square footage, service requirements, or scope may require a pricing adjustment.

Either party may discontinue recurring services according to the notice requirements contained in the applicable service agreement.

13. Supplies & Equipment

Unless otherwise agreed, Hyssop Cleaning Services may provide the ordinary cleaning products and equipment necessary to perform the contracted services.

Clients must notify Hyssop in advance of specialty surfaces, manufacturer-specific cleaning requirements, allergies, sensitivities, or products that should not be used.

Consumable supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, trash liners, and similar facility products may be client-supplied unless otherwise stated in the service agreement.

14. Damage or Service Concerns

Any concern regarding completed cleaning should be reported promptly so that Hyssop Cleaning Services has a reasonable opportunity to review and address the matter.

Claims involving alleged property damage should include photographs and relevant information when available. Hyssop reserves the right to inspect the affected property before determining an appropriate resolution.

Normal wear and tear, pre-existing damage, deterioration, improperly installed fixtures, unstable furnishings, defective materials, or damage resulting from conditions outside Hyssop's reasonable control are not considered cleaning-related damage.

15. Health & Safety

Hyssop Cleaning Services reserves the right to stop or refuse service when conditions present an unreasonable health or safety risk to employees or contractors.

Standard cleaning services do not include hazardous-material removal, significant mold remediation, sewage cleanup, bodily-fluid remediation, pest infestation cleanup, sharps removal, or other biohazard services unless specifically contracted and appropriately handled.

16. Satisfaction & Communication

Customer satisfaction is important to Hyssop Cleaning Services. Clients are encouraged to communicate questions, concerns, special instructions, or changes in service needs promptly so that they can be addressed appropriately.

Our objective is to develop professional, long-term relationships through dependable service, clear communication, and consistent workmanship.

17. New York Consumer Requirements

Certain residential projects may be subject to additional New York consumer-protection requirements depending on the nature of the work. New York requires qualifying home-improvement contracts over $500 to be in writing and to contain specific information and notices, including a three-business-day cancellation notice.

Because Hyssop's styling services expressly exclude construction and remodeling, not every residential styling or cleaning engagement will necessarily constitute "home improvement." Where applicable law provides rights or protections beyond these Terms & Conditions, applicable law governs.

18. Changes to Terms

Hyssop Cleaning Services may update these Terms & Conditions periodically. The version applicable to a particular service will be the version in effect when the applicable service agreement or quote is accepted, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
